For picturesque walks head towards Gargrave village, or if you're feeling energetic why not ride the Aire valley towpath route.

- Skipton Trail - the Earl of Thanet, who once lived in Skipton Castle, complained about the noise from the canal! Is the canal still a noisy place today? Take tes trail to find out
Wildlife spotting:
In the heart of the town, swans and ducks are regulars around the water's edge and you may catch a glimpse of a heron

By train - Skipton Station is an eight minute walk to the towpath
